AgileNotes Touch user interface is optimized for vertical and horizontal usage. The last one is especially useful for devices with hard QWERTY keyboard like Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 or HTC Touch Pro.

AgileNotes has two main "screens" - File manager, which is started screen, and Editor as shown below.

File manager in Pro edition supports file tools panel (shown at the left screenshot) for the file operations like Copy, Cut, Paste, Create folder, Rename and Delete. Copy, Cut and Paste operations could be applyed only for files and other operations are applicable for folder as well.

To open file or change current folder you should twice tap on the selected file or folder. To make easier finger operations you can use button "Open" instead of double tap. If file is selected this button will open it in another screen - Editor.

The Editor is a core of AgileNotes. It's unique and not at the same time because of wrapper around the same technology as used by Microsoft for Pocket Notes and Pocket Word applications. It's pity that this Microsoft technology is not documented enough so it's rare event to find this rich text capabilities in Windows Mobile applications (we don't know other commercial quality application which are using it except our AgileNotes).

Just tap "Font" button to call formatting tools including Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikeout, Bullet styles as well as four most often used colors (Free edition in different to Pro enables Bold, Italic and Underline styles only).

One more unique productivity feature of AgileNotes 3.0 Touch (both editions) is word autoselecting. If you didn't selected text to apply formatting but want to apply it for single word only - just place cursor before or at the word and tap an appropriate tool (bold, blue or whatever you want) - the current word will be autoselected and emphasizing key words in the text became easier than ever.

And if you want came back to the file manager just tap "Files" button. Edited file will not be closed and you could continue to edit it by tapping "Editor" button again (of course if you not opened another one file to view or edit).

You can also use additional editor tools like Zoom ("Normal button is to one tap back to 100%) and Redo/Undo, including Zoom operations.

Note that if format "Font" tools panel is already opened call to Edit tools will close it and vice versa. All the tools buttons has state and if you tap it to open tool panel you can tap it again to hide.

The same behavior is for Menu also where you can set default Home directory and exit program.

Of course AgileNotes Touch user interface is optimized for vertical layout too:

Additional Tips on using AgileNotes

  • All saving operations (Save and Save As) are working in the context of current folder (you can see full path in the path bar on top of the main window).

  • You can set default Home folder (via Menu). It will be saved in options file that is automatically placed in the AgileNotes installation folder. Also you can go "Home" any time from the main menu as well to chnage the current folder to your home folder, for example on SD MMC card if you loke to store your notes and documents out of main Pocket PC memory. Home folder is automatically selected when you start AgileNotes.

  • AgileNotes is a single instance application that means one and only one instance in the memory (if you try to start it again you will just activate already running instance of AgileNotes).

  • Please, remember that embedded File manager doesn't show files with extensions other then rtf, pwi or txt. So if you delete folder you will not get warning messages or information that folder contains any files except a standard message "Do you want to delete folder..?".

  • Note hat all format styles will be lost if you try to save rich text in txt file. Unicode files are not supported in txt files.

  • AgileNotes works with standard pwi, rtf and txt files so you can exchange within files with users who haven't AgileNotes. If you send/copy your pwi file to the machine with installed AvctiveSync you can use desktop Microsoft Office Word to convert and open your pwi-file; but we recommend to use rtf (Pro edition only) instead of pwi if you will attach notes to your messages to be readble at any destop system.

Happy usage of AgileNotes!
